Painting is one of the most effective ways to add a new lease of life into your home. Updated neutrals tend to be the most effective colours to use when trying to update a room.
Looking at colour trends can be an option but homeowners should be cautious of the brighter on trend shades as they may not to be to everyone’s taste.
Muted shades work effectively in master bedrooms, whilst lighter colours can open up living rooms and kitchens.
2. Replace old carpet or flooring
This may seem like an unnecessary and pricy option if you are selling your home, but this option could make all the difference of a guaranteed sale.
Stained carpets with tatty flattened carpet fibres do not give the best first impression for a potential buyer. Fresh new carpet certainly makes a difference and provides the perfect canvas for buyers to work with.
The Carpet Showroom personally recommends the Magnetic range due to its affordability and range of neutral colours available.
If you have any other areas which are looking worn, The Carpet Showroom has a variety of affordable vinyl, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and laminate ranges which are ideal for adding that extra wow effect. For the kitchen especially, LVT is recommended for to its hardwearing, versatile and waterproof surface.
If you do not have the budget for new carpet consider investing in a thorough carpet clean. The Carpet Showroom personally recommends Chem-Dry as they offer a unique carpet cleaning solution. Using carbonated bubbles, dirt is lifted out of the carpet fibres with ease. Better yet carpets can be dry within 1-2 hours and not 1-2 days like other carpet cleaners.

A buyer will find it much more difficult to imagine how their tastes and trinkets will fit. Whereas a blank canvas is always the perfect option to start with.
4. Deep Clean
This may be the most difficult option of the list, but quite frankly one of the most important.
Those curtains or blinds that haven’t been cleaned for a while would really hinder the look of a room.Remove any limescale, clean and repair tile grout, wax wooden floors, get rid of all odours, hang up fresh towels.
This will make the place more appealing and allow viewers to imagine living there
